The latest winner of The Apprentice has been determined by Lord Sugar in the culmination of the 19th series. In a showdown dubbed “chilli versus the chiller,” Lord Sugar had to decide between Anisa Khan, who specializes in Indian food-flavored pizzas, and Dean Franklin, the owner of an air conditioning company.
The competition marked the end of a grueling 12-week journey that began with 18 aspiring entrepreneurs all vying for the opportunity to become Lord Sugar’s next protege. Despite facing some challenges along the way, Dean, hailing from Essex, ultimately won Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment.
Expressing his disbelief at the victory, Dean shared, “I can’t believe I’ve just won The Apprentice. This is going to mean the world to me and my family. My kids are going to be over the moon.” Despite facing a tough time during the penultimate episode’s interviews with Lord Sugar’s advisors, Dean managed to secure his spot in the final.
In the final task, the previously eliminated contestants returned to assist Dean and Anisa in creating advertising campaigns for their respective businesses. Lord Sugar emphasized the importance of scalability in Dean’s air conditioning business and noted the need for a strong proposition. Following his win, Dean will now receive the full ownership stake in his company, previously split among his business partner and their wives.
Since 2011, the investment amount from Lord Sugar has remained consistent at £250,000. However, previous winner Tom Pellereau suggested that doubling the prize money to £500,000 or even £1 million would be a more impactful reward for the aspiring entrepreneurs. The final episode of The Apprentice is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer
