Thousands to run in Boston Marathon 2025 – the UK's flattest

The Boston Marathon is set to kick off this Sunday with over 2,000 participants gearing up to take part in the prestigious race. Known as one of the flattest marathons in the country, the 26-mile (42km) race will commence at 08:00 BST from Market Place.

Spectators are encouraged to show their support at designated points along the route, including key locations in Butterwick, Bennington, Leverton, Wrangle, and Fishtoft. Organizers emphasized the importance of adhering to safety guidelines by approaching the lanes from specific roads branching off the A52 to avoid interference with the marathon route.

Race director Kay Bonnell expressed her anticipation for the event, stating that after months of planning, she is eager to witness the runners in action. Participants from both international and national backgrounds are looking to achieve qualifying times that will enable them to compete in marathons elsewhere.
