SHERELLE has just dropped her first album, ‘WITH A VENGEANCE’, under her label Method 808. The surprise release of the 10-track project was announced on Instagram today (April 9), with SHERELLE sharing her excitement about finally releasing the album. The inspiration behind ‘WITH A VENGEANCE’ came from a challenging period in the artist’s personal life, with the need for “uptempo catharsis” driving the creation of the album.
Expressing her journey through the creation of the album, SHERELLE mentioned overcoming negative thoughts and energy to transform them into something positive and cathartic. The album served as a soundboard for her throughout the last year, reflecting the raw energy she hopes people can feel when listening to it. The lead single, ‘FREAKY’, which features vocals from George Riley, premiered on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 6 show.
In a heartwarming revelation, SHERELLE shared that ‘FREAKY’ was born out of a magical session with Riley, where the track took on a life of its own in just an hour. The artist expressed gratitude for Riley’s support and contribution to making the song what it is today.
