Man charged after two women stabbed in Downpatrick

In a shocking incident in Downpatrick, County Down, a 26 year-old man has been accused of attempted murder following a brutal attack on two women. The man is facing charges of possession of an offensive weapon with the intent to commit a serious crime. It was reported to the police that the man, armed with two knives, was assaulting the two women at a residence on Stream Street at 08:30 GMT on Friday morning.

During the attack, a 35 year-old woman sustained a severe knife wound to her neck along with injuries to her head and face. Another woman in her 50s also suffered stab wounds during the terrifying incident. Despite the gravity of their injuries, both women were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
