She expressed gratitude to those who have already reached out with support and information.
Rowetta made the startling allegations last month, alleging that Shaun Ryder physically assaulted her, resulting in her being knocked unconscious. She emphasized the presence of multiple witnesses during the altercation. Ryder, however, has refuted these claims in a statement released to The Metro, expressing shock at Rowetta’s accusations.
The incident is said to have taken place following a performance at Dublin’s Witness Festival in 2000 while onboard a ferry to Holyhead. Rowetta revealed that she experienced mistreatment while touring with the Happy Mondays, describing being in uncomfortable situations compared to other band members. She has referenced witness accounts, photos, and past press reports to corroborate her version of events.
As legal proceedings may ensue, Rowetta has indicated that she is exploring her options and intends to involve law enforcement in the matter.
