In relation to the disappearance of a man over twenty years ago, three individuals have been apprehended. Robert Scott Clive, also known as Scott, vanished in October 2002 following an evening out in North Shields, North Tyneside. He had relocated from Stranraer in Scotland a few months prior. Despite his absence, a murder inquiry was initiated by the authorities.
Two men in their 40s and 50s, along with a woman in her 40s, have been arrested by Northumbria Police on suspicion of involvement in Mr. Clive’s disappearance. At the time he went missing, Mr. Clive, a 30-year-old labourer residing in Prudhoe Terrace, was last seen. Officials have meticulously combed through hours of CCTV footage and engaged with numerous individuals to piece together his movements.
Authorities are conducting searches at an address in the Coronation Street vicinity, a location Mr. Clive had frequented on the night he disappeared, in an attempt to unravel the mystery. Last June, a 49-year-old person was taken into custody as part of the inquiry. Although sightings similar to Mr. Clive’s description near the River Tyne’s banks had been reported, his mother, Tricia Clive, has expressed doubts about his purported fall into the river, stating that the family remains uncertain about his fate.
Detective Inspector Mark Atherton, who is overseeing the investigation, emphasized the continued efforts to provide closure to Scott’s family.
