A daring feline named Tilly caused quite a commotion when she managed to hop on a train from Surrey to London Waterloo station. Tilly’s owner, Michael Hardy, shared that the two-year-old cat is no stranger to wandering off, as she has previously hopped on buses and even found her way behind the bar at a local pub. However, Michael was surprised to receive a call from a ticket office worker informing him about Tilly’s unexpected 17.7-mile journey into the city.
Michael, who resides in Weybridge, was fortunately in London at the time of Tilly’s escapade and promptly drove to the station to retrieve her. He expressed his shock, saying, “What the hell is my cat doing in Waterloo getting on trains and going for a ride?” Using an Apple air tag, Michael was able to track Tilly’s movements and discovered that the only way she could have reached Waterloo was by train, with the journey taking anywhere between 30 minutes to nearly 90 minutes from Weybridge.
Tilly’s adventurous spirit doesn’t stop at train rides, as she has also managed to find her way to a local school and even a nearby pub. Michael recounted how Tilly came into their lives after being found as a stray by two young girls who believed she belonged to him. Despite efforts to locate her original owners, Tilly was eventually adopted by Michael and his girlfriend, with a local vet recommending they keep her after verifying her microchip.
