In 1998, 29 people lost their lives in the Omagh bomb attack that took place in Northern Ireland. A survivor of the event, Nicola Marlow, was unable to attend the funeral of her sister, Jolene, who was killed in the brutal attack. Nicola sustained critical injuries, and her life was forever changed. Addressing the inquiry into the bombing, led by Sir John Mitting, Nicola expressed how the burden of not being able to bid her sister farewell was excruciating for her to bear.
