ITV will broadcast live coverage of the 2025 LIV Golf season in the UK, according to a deal agreed by the tour. The broadcasting partnership will see the virtual golf tour reach a television audience, with 41 rounds of live golf to be aired across 14 tournaments, beginning with the season-opener in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Selected rounds will also be shown across ITV’s channels, with a highlights show also forming part of the schedule. Since the tour’s launch in 2022, fans have only been able to watch events online.
Niall Sloane, ITV Sport’s director, called the partnership “exciting” and spoke of his delight at welcoming LIV Golf to the channel. Ron Wechsler, LIV Golf’s senior vice president of broadcast partnerships and programming strategy, said the deal was a “major milestone” as the tour looks to bring golf to audiences around the world.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the US Open would offer exemptions to LIV players based on their ranking. The PGA Tour has been in talks with LIV’s backers, the Saudi Public Investment Fund, in a bid to reunite global golf. Negotiations are thought to be ongoing and the PGA Tour announced on Thursday that it was “closer to a deal” after enlisting the help of US President Donald Trump.
