Carl Cox announces residency at new Ibiza “hyperclub” [UNVRS]

The “King of Ibiza,” Carl Cox, is returning to the White Isle this summer with a residency at the newly opened UNVRS club, located on the former site of the legendary Privilege club. Cox’s re-emergence on the Ibiza scene comes almost ten years after he concluded his residency at Space Ibiza, which ran for 15 years until its closure in 2016. Since then, the esteemed techno and house DJ has made various appearances on the island, including at Pacha and Amnesia, and a DC-10 residency in 2022.

Cox is set to perform at UNVRS on June 22, 2025, and will subsequently lead a regular Sunday night slot at the club until it closes on September 21, 2025. According to a quote given to Mixmag, “This is more than a comeback; it’s a reunion with the island that shaped so much of my journey. I’m ready to take it back to what it’s all about — unfiltered, soul-stirring music.”

The newest addition to Ibiza’s clubbing scene, UNVRS, is being billed as the first “hyperclub” in the world, offering a world-class clubbing experience with the scale and ambition of arena events. The Rodriguez brothers and Farshad Jamshidi, the owners of The Night League, the company that also runs Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa, are behind the concept. “Carl Cox at UNVRS isn’t just an event; it’s history in the making,” commented the Night League’s Yann Pissenem. “Carl’s legacy is inseparable from Ibiza’s story, and with this new residency, we’re setting the stage for the next era. Sundays will never be the same again.”

Cox and his team are curating the line-up for the Sun-day night clubnight, promising “musical authenticity, boundary-pushing curation, and an unshakable commitment to the dancefloor.” The mix promises to offer a distinct sound, featuring a diverse mix of techno and house practitioners from different parts of the world. This residency is the first announced at the brand new club, and it’ll be interesting to see what other names are soon added to the roster. Tickets to the events are available on the UNVRS website
