The future of the Speke expansion is uncertain, but Hemingway believes that “it could be a fabulous opportunity”.
“I think the Merseyside area and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine are in a phenomenal position to take advantage of the development of life sciences. We are at the centre, we have some of the best skills, the best research, as well as a very strong public health resource. We should be looking to make the best of the opportunities that are now available and use them to kickstart a reinvigoration of the area as a whole.”
