The Festival Garden Project in Liverpool has reached a new stage following the decision made by Liverpool City Council to launch a new procurement exercise for the selection of a new development partner for the project. It should be noted that the decision to undertake this new procurement exercise is not a reflection on Ion’s competency or ability to deliver, but has been driven by the constraints of the land sale method that both parties pursued together in good faith. The Festival Garden Project has been in the development stage for quite some time and this decision ensures that the project continually progresses in good time and provides the citizens with prime waterfront locations to enjoy. The project is essential for the continued growth of Liverpool city and its increasing population. The council is looking to complete the project in a timely manner so that residents can enjoy all that the city has to offer, including state of the art public spaces, parks, and retail outlets.
Liverpool City Council is optimistic that the development of the Festival Garden Project will continue to progress forward at full speed, following this new agreement with Ion Property Developments Limited. The Council is looking forward to opening up this new public space in Liverpool and welcomes partners who share similar interests and goals for the development of the city
