Breaka gears up to release second full-length album, ‘Aeoui’

Breaka, the London-based DJ and producer, will soon release his second album, ‘Aeoui’, through his own label, Breaka Recordings. This 10-track album features both dance floor-focused tracks and vocal cuts that contain only vowel sound samples. The album includes music styles such as jungle, footwork and breaks, but also showcases an influence from South African genres such as amapiano and gqom, along with baile funk-inspired percussion. ‘Aeoui’ has been in the making for several years, with some early inspiration behind the album’s lead tracks Yolo Bass Rewind and Squashy Track.

Describing the album, Breaka said he wanted a light-hearted and yet deadly serious project with an evil, yet cute side. He had struggled to know what to create for his second album, so kept working on his computer until he found this mix. Although the 10 tracks of the album blend together different genres, he described the intent as creating a consistent vibe. The album also carries references to the vowel sounds that Breaka is often made fun of.

The production process of the rest of the tracks essentially involved sifting through many existing works to complete the record consisting of Aeoui and Are We There. The release is scheduled for February 28, following the first-ever full-length album release by Breaka titled ‘We Move’ in 2022. Breaka Recordings, his record label, was first established in 2019 with self-titled EP.

The album is available for pre-order through the Aeoui Bandcamp website in digital and vinyl formats. ‘Aeoui’ tracklist includes the following closest section of music: Aeoui, Are We There, Dream Sequence 19, Heartbreaka, Sub Hugs, Roundhouse, Cascara, Squashy Track, Yolo Bass Rewind, and Truth Be Untold.

The emergence of ‘Aeoui’ marks a new milestone for Breaka, following his signature style of high-energy club dance music that sparks life back into dance floors. Furthermore, the upcoming album points to an excellent year of music for Breaka as he diversifies from his first genre – Breaks – into more genres and hopefully establishes himself as a more multifaceted artist
