London nightclub fabric has installed a new, enhanced dancefloor featuring haptic feedback, after receiving funding from the National Lottery via Arts Council England. Described by fabric’s technical manager Matt Smith as “advanced” and “groundbreaking”, the dancefloor features Bodysonic transducers. These resonate silently at subharmonic frequencies, creating a sensation of vibration throughout the body that adds an extra dimension to the hearing experience. Fabric consulted with deaf rave group to ensure an “optimal experience” for deaf guests and says the new dancefloor offers the opportunity for sound meditation events as well as regular club nights
