In contrast to her 2021 debut album ‘Im hole’, which explored the social practice of “afters-hopping and key bag circles,” ‘hexed!’ will offer a new level of visibility as the Yorkshire-born musician turns the lights on in her follow up.
The album is set to include a wide range of genre references that includes SOPHIE’s ‘Product’ and late-’90s Slipknot, highlighting aya’s versatility. Aya announced the release of ‘hexed!’ on her Instagram account, expressing the immense effort she dedicated to the production of the record and expressed hopes that listeners will enjoy it.
To give audiences a sneak peek of the album, aya has made available the album’s lead single titled ‘off to the ESSO’. The single is a powerful bass track that pairs its bass crescendos with impressive rap howling to deliver a thrilling experience. ‘hexed!’ will be released on March 28 via Hyperdub in both vinyl and digital formats.
The album’s tracklist includes ten tracks that reflect its diverse sound.
