Chicago will host a new electronic music conference this April aimed at bringing together those in the industry. The Chicago Electronic Music Conference (CEMC) is described as aiming to support, enable, connect, and inspire electronic music professionals, while showcasing the city’s underground music and culture. The conference will be held on Saturday, April 26th and will feature “up-close” performances, panel discussions featuring “local legends and industry experts”, along with interactive lessons and workshops, as well as music, ticket and merchandise giveaways. CEMC has been put together by Chicago’s community of musicians and promoters, with founders John Rynecki, Nikhil Gidwani and Matthew Pest leading the effort. The team started CEMC after realizing that “Chicago electronic music events were becoming less community-driven”.
The event is expected to be one-of-a-kind and organizers plan to keep up with their high standards by adding more line-up details in the following months. The conference will take place at Bridgeport’s Ramova Theater, which is a perfect venue with an 1,800-seat capacity. The event is open to fans and creators of electronic music, and more updates about the conference are anticipated soon. The tickets are already sold out, though the conference website is expected to release additional tickets in the near future.
CEMC is aimed at being a different kind of experience for the electronic music industry, as well as the music fans and creators. The conference will create a space where the community can come together, share, inspire, learn, and interact. Chicago has been known as one of the original homes of house music, and CEMC intends to celebrate the city’s music and culture. According to CEMC’s website, the conference embodies the spirit of Chicago, community-driven, passionate and diverse.
Although the line-up has yet to be announced, the conference is definitely a must-attend event. CEMC aims to create a platform for industry insiders and professionals to connect, discuss current events and share their experiences. The conference is expected to bring together different communities and foster collaboration in the electronic music industry.
