Mr Farooq’s experience managing a catering contract at the 2022 Qatar World Cup and previous roles as a team liaison officer for the Football Association were claimed by his representative to have been ignored due to racial stereotyping.

Nevertheless, under cross-examination, it was revealed that three non-white people, including two of mixed Asian and white heritage, had also been interviewed for the position. After hearing all comments from representatives of both sides and from Mr Farooq, the judge will make his decision on Wednesday
