A 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody after being accused of murdering a 12-year-old boy who was stabbed on Tuesday in Hall Green, Birmingham. The victim was found with significant injuries near Scribers Lane at approximately 3 pm GMT. Sadly, the victim died as a result of his injuries while being transported to the hospital.
The West Midlands Police are now asking the public for information or any dashcam and mobile phone footage to aid in their investigation. “If you were in the area at the time and saw what happened, or think you may have captured any part of what happened on dashcam or mobile phone, it’s vital you get in touch,” urged Det Insp Joe Davenport.
The suspect’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specialist officers. The suburb of Hall Green, where the incident occurred, is surrounded by houses, shops, and local schools, on the long and busy Scribers Lane. The attack is believed to have taken place near the railway bridge, situated next to Trittiford Mill Park.
The incident has elicited expressions of shock and sadness from the local community as well as from educators and political leaders.
