Eliza and Henrietta Huszti: Search for sisters widens to coast

Aberdeen authorities extended their search for twin sisters, Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, who were last seen in the wee hours of Tuesday. CCTV footage showed the sisters crossing over the Victoria Bridge on Market Street at 2:12 a.m. before turning onto a path next to the River Dee. Divers searched the river near the area, but officers confirmed that nothing was found to suggest foul play. The search is now extending towards the coast, and the family has urged the general public to stop spreading unverified rumors. Police Scotland has dedicated significant resources towards this investigation, and authorities are encouraging any businesses with CCTV footage to come forward.

The Huszti sisters are originally from Hungary but reside in Aberdeen’s city center. The triplets’ brother shared that the sisters appeared happy in the days before their disappearance, chatting with family members over video calls. There was nothing to suggest they planned to leave suddenly. The sisters rarely go out, and they prefer to stay in, mostly watching films. The sisters are sociable and close-knit, which is why the family is bewildered and concerned about their disappearance. Henrietta works at a local branch of Costa Coffee in Aberdeen.

Police are asking people to approach them if they have any information and have increased patrols in and around Torry. The police and the family have also called upon the public not to spread unverified information. The family released a statement in Hungarian, translated by BBC News, thanking everyone for their attempts to help find the sisters during this difficult and stressful time.

The Huszti sisters, both of slender build, are white women with long brown hair. They are part of a “close-knit” family struggling to understand what may have happened. They moved to Scotland seven years ago and were last seen wearing jackets. One of the sisters enjoyed cooking, and her sister admits it is unlike them to be out on the streets during those hours. The family is hoping for a swift and positive resolution to this investigation
