Drink driver dressed as Batman disqualified from driving

A man who donned a Batman costume and attempted to run from the police after crashing his vehicle into a pole while under the influence of alcohol has been banned from driving for a year. Lewis Blondrage, a 25-year-old resident of the Aliwal Barracks in Wiltshire, collided with a telegraph pole located on Meerut Road in Tidworth on the 19th of November. While the impact of the collision led to extensive damage to the car, Blondrage managed to flee the scene, only to be pursued by local residents who eventually caught up with him after a prolonged chase.

In his trial, Blondrage was found guilty of multiple charges, including drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He was then handed a 12-month driving ban and ordered to pay £600 as punishment by the Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. According to Wiltshire Police, Blondrage was only apprehended after a joint operation by multiple police teams featuring police dogs.

Upon his arrest, it was discovered that he had failed a breathalyser test and was further caught out when a blood test conducted after his arrest returned results that were well over the legal alcohol limit. The entire situation culminated with a conviction for Blondrage and significant financial and driving-related consequences that he will now have to deal with.

The case highlights the dangers of drink driving and the dire consequences that can arise when individuals take legal risks and break the law. The quick and efficient work by the police also serves as a reminder that when it comes to enforcing the law, the authorities are fully committed to doing their job and ensuring that justice is served
