Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, former Conservative MP and currently a GB News presenter, has said that he, his wife and six children agreed to take part in a reality series called Meet the Rees-Moggs to reveal their lives. He denied taking part in the show as a move to return to politics. The programme was commissioned to provide viewers with an insight into the lives of Sir Jacob, his wife Helena de Chair and their six children. The former minister became controversial due to some of his hardline views. During his 14-year career as an MP, he opposed abortion in all circumstances and was against implementing any climate change legislation.
Sir Jacob, who was once viewed as one of the most controversial politicians of his time, has explained that in politics, if you say what you think immediately, you will be seen as controversial. The show offers an insight into the lives of the Rees-Moggs. In the family, they have full throttle discussions around politics and religion. Sir Jacob is determined to reveal who he is and what he and his family are about. It is well-known that he opposed abortion in all circumstances and was against implementing any climate change legislation. Critics have conflicting opinions as to whether the series is worth watching or not. While some claim that the show fails to challenge him in any significant way, others believe it to be impeccable reality TV and that the Rees-Moggs are a curious, attention-seeking family
