BBC's Glenn Campbell: The reality of my life with a brain tumour


Glenn Campbell, a journalist with the BBC, has made a documentary about living with an incurable brain tumour. The programme, My Brain Tumour And Me, airs on BBC One Scotland on Wednesday 20 November. In an article for the BBC’s website, Campbell revealed that he started filming himself in hospital as he waited for brain surgery. Campbell broke 10 ribs in a bicycle accident in June 2023 and had a seizure while he was in bed one night. The seizure revealed the presence of an aggressive tumour which was later diagnosed as an oligodendroglioma.

Campbell has responded well to treatment so far, but still experiences fatigue and risks further seizures. He has only had four big seizures, one of which occurred while he was walking in Scotland with a friend. Campbell’s friend filmed him during the seizure, which he said he included in his documentary to give an insight into life with epilepsy.
