Man jailed for role in Max Dixon and Mason Rist murders


A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for his part in the murders of two teenagers in Bristol at the start of this year. Antony Snook was found to have driven four accomplices to the scene of the killing of Mason Rist, 15, and Max Dixon, 16. Snook, who pleaded not guilty, will spend a minimum of 38 years in jail for the murders, which took place in January 2021. Three other boys were convicted of murder and will receive sentences later this month.

Snook, who maintained he was unaware of the intended crime, was arrested along with the other suspects after the murders. He insisted that he was ignorant of his passengers’ intentions and claimed to have had no knowledge of the knives they carried. During the hearing at Bristol Crown Court, Judge Mrs Justice May addressed Snook, stating that there “had been multiple opportunities to stop this madness,” referring to Snook being the only adult present. She added that he was “so weak and cowardly to lend himself to the revenge scheme
