Kathleen Alexandra Warmington has been dismissed from her post as a mental health nurse for serious misconduct after she made “inappropriate comments” about vulnerable patients. Warmington was suspended for 18 months, but it will be replaced with permanent suspension, although she does have the option to appeal. She had 20 years of mental health experience and worked in Northamptonshire.
According to the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Warmington’s behavior left patients at “an unwanted risk of harm.” She made various comments about vulnerable patients, including suggesting that a service user “go to the vets and get her put down.” Additionally, she described a patient as a “naughty girl” and said another needed to “get a grip”. Warmington also told one of her colleagues that she “would’ve drowned her at birth,” if she were her daughter, which was in reference to someone whom she was entrusted to take care of.
