Mason Rist and Max Dixon: Five guilty of murdering Bristol teens

After nearly 19 hours of deliberation, a jury at Bristol Crown Court has found four teenagers and one man guilty of murdering two boys due to mistaken identity. Mason Rist, 15, and Max Dixon, 16, were stabbed to death by four teenagers armed with machetes, who had been looking for revenge over a house attack in Hartcliffe. However, Mason and Max had nothing to do with the incident.

Antony Snook, aged 45, who was originally from Hartcliffe Bristol, will be sentenced in November, while three boys aged 17, 15, and 16, and Riley Tolliver aged 18, will be sentenced in December. Snook, Tolliver, and the two 17- and 16-year-olds denied both murders. However, the 15-year-old boy admitted to murdering Mason, but he denied killing Max.

As the jury foreman read out the verdicts, none of the defendants showed any reaction from the dock. Members of the victims’ families who were sitting in the public gallery cried as the guilty verdicts were given. Other relatives cheered and punched the air.
