The attack, which took place on 29 July reportedly left Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, dead, along with more than a dozen others injured. The hearing continues, with legal and administrative matters being discussed, which are not permitted to be reported upon before the trial. The latter is slated to take place in January next year.
Mr Rudakubana did not respond to requests for him to identify himself during the hearing. He was described as sitting with a prison officer behind him, with a grey sweatshirt covering his face. Roughly 20 family members of the victims were present in the public gallery during the hearing, along with Leanne Lucas, a yoga instructor who was also stabbed in the attack.
Mr Justice Julian Goose, the Judge presiding over the case, has ordered a further preparatory hearing in December, ahead of the trial. Mr Rudakubana has been remanded in custody
