Sydenham: Man shot dead and two injured in south-east London


In a disturbing incident, a man was killed and two others were injured due to gunshots in south-east London. The Metropolitan Police reported that it happened on Sunday around 10:10 a.m. near Wells Park Road in Sydenham. Upon receiving the report, the officers arrived at the location and found a man dead and a woman with gunshot wounds on her legs. Police took the woman to the hospital immediately. Her injuries are severe, but her condition is not life-threatening.

According to the Metropolitan Police, they received information about the third injured person as well. This person has been taken to the hospital, but the condition is still unknown. The force requested any information related to the incident and condemned the pointless act of violence. The authorities have yet not identified the victim, and no arrests have been made.

The Metropolitan Police are trying to determine the identity of the victim and contact his family. A post-mortem examination will also be arranged, according to the statement given by a Met spokesperson. Commander Peter Stevens shared his concerns and assured the community that the police response had been swift, along with forensic experts.

He also requested anyone with information to contact the officers, and urged people to provide any footage. Police officers have been placed in the area, and the forensic team will remain present for some time. The investigation is currently ongoing, and it is hoped that the culprits will be brought to justice soon
