The Financial Times headline reads “Trump is back” and describes the global fears over tariffs, with America’s democracy and alliances poised for turmoil. The Daily Telegraph describes Trump’s win as a “clean sweep” having taken the Senate, popular vote, and every swing state in an unprecedented comeback. Meanwhile, the i newspaper describes Trump’s win as a “thumping victory.”

The Guardian headlines its front page with “American Dread” as it covers 25 pages of news, analysis, and opinion on the “resounding victory” by Trump. Finally, The Daily Express’ headlines read “He’s been shot, convicted of a crime and branded a fascist… but he’s still the people’s choice,” while The Daily Mail pronounces the result as a “nightmare for Starmer and his Donald-loathing Cabinet”.

Despite Trump’s win, there is unease both domestically and globally. Europe fears a trade war, and the world is “rocked by staggering US election result,” writes the Daily Mirror. In the Mail’s opinion, the “liberals in the US and Britain have been left bewildered and tearful.
