Miranda Hart, known for her eponymous BBC show Miranda, has opened up about her struggle with chronic fatigue following a diagnosis of Lyme disease. In her new book, I Haven’t Been Entirely Honest With You, Hart discusses the challenges she has faced over the past 10 years, including the difficulties caused by poor health. The autobiography also offers an insight into her personal life, revealing that she married at the age of 51.
After being bedridden for a prolonged period, Hart spoke about the difficulty of being confined to her home. She explained that unless one has suffered from chronic fatigue, they cannot understand what it is like to be unable to get off the floor. She also shared that she was thrilled to be involved in television once again and was keen to return to “some silliness.”
Part of the reason Hart wrote her book is to share what helped her recovery. Following years of research, she has developed 10 keys to living well, which she calls her treasures. She feels that despite her suffering, she is now living a life of joy, meaning, and fulfillment, in a way she never did before.
Hart was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease after a prolonged period of struggling with her condition. She believes she was infected as a teenager, but the diagnosis was a huge relief for her, as she felt that she had been misunderstood and misjudged for a long time.
Hart began her career performing at the Edinburgh Fringe in the early 2000s and is well known for her portrayal of the socially awkward Miranda. Despite the challenging period of her life she has faced, she remains optimistic that things can change for anyone. With her new husband by her side, she feels she has the energy to take on new projects and get back to making people laugh
