Gloucestershire Police have arrested two individuals on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of Alice Webb, 33, in hospital on Tuesday. It is believed that Webb underwent a cosmetic procedure before she fell seriously ill and was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance on Monday. Gloucestershire Police were alerted at 11:35 BST on Monday.
The police spokesperson has indicated that the investigation into Webb’s death will be led by the Major Crime Investigation Team. The two individuals arrested in connection with the case have since been released on police bail.
Gloucestershire Police are yet to release further information regarding the nature of the cosmetic procedure undergone by Ms Webb. They have not suggested that any other individuals are currently being sought in connection with the case.
Webb was from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, had a degree in psychology from the University of Leeds and a master’s degree from Oxford Brookes University. She worked in recruitment before changing direction and starting a business that organised fitness retreats.
