Hunt for Aaron Wood on the run from HMP North Sea Camp

Police are conducting a search for a man who has absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire. The authorities have advised the public not to approach Aaron Wood, 54, who was reported missing from HMP North Sea Camp in Boston. The police are urging people to inform them immediately by calling 999 if they see Wood, who is believed to still be in the Boston area but may have connections in the Grimsby area. Forces have not yet disclosed the nature of Wood’s conviction or his sentence.

Wood is described as being around 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall, with a medium build, brown hair, and blue eyes. He has a distinct scar on his forehead and a tattoo of the words AC/DC on his right forearm.

Lincolnshire Police Department confirmed that the search for Wood is currently underway and that they are focusing their efforts on the surrounding areas. They urge the public to be vigilant and to contact them immediately if they believe they spot Wood.

Open prisons are primarily designed to hold long-term prisoners who typically only have a few years left on their sentence. The Open Prison Estate, which comprises twelve facilities across the UK, is considered the least restrictive type of prison. Prisoners have far greater flexibility to engage in work and education programs, and they are allowed to mix together unsupervised on site
