The inquiry has been told that this failure to consider how the cladding might perform in a fire was not unique to Grenfell Tower.
Documents released to the inquiry show testing centres’ reports indicating that cladding they had examined had failed fire tests. But the reports were never shared with the architects, contractors or the building control officers.
The inquiry continues to hear evidence about the complex procurement and the misinformation about the safety of materials that contributed to the disaster on 14 June 2017.
