Disney has presented its forthcoming series, called Skeleton Crew, at the D23 Expo fan convention. Jude Law, who plays Jod Na Nawood in the show, unveiled the trailer, describing it as “a timeless adventure story in the spirit of the Amblin coming-of-age stories of the ’80s”. The show follows four children who stumble upon a lost Jedi temple, believing it is a strange discovery on their planet, only to find what appears to be a crashed starship. They get lost in the galaxy and discover themselves on an adventure with Nawood.
Jon Favreau, executive producer of the popular show The Mandalorian, is also connected with Skeleton Crew. The release date on Disney+ has been scheduled for 3rd December this year. Dave Filoni, another executive producer, jokingly said in an interview that although Skeleton Crew is as much for kids as Clone Wars, he is unsure if people are looking for that level of measurement as Clone Wars involve people losing their heads.
When Law was asked how it was being a member of the Star Wars universe, he stated that he had been interested ever since he was six years old when this galaxy took him under its grips and blew his mind, and he felt he had been in preparation ever since. The actor shared in an interview that he had a “total pleasure” working alongside the team. In another interview, Law opened up about the time he turned down the role of Superman in the early 2000s, stating that it “just felt off”.
Disney created Skeleton Crew, and it is set to become one of the hyped new programmes on Disney+. If you love Star Wars or any other fantastic sci-fi, there is a guarantee you’ll love watching Skeleton Crew when it releases
