Demi Riquísimo has just released his latest EP, titled ‘Perilous Joy’, on his own record label known as Semi Delicious. This marks the 19th release on the imprint and the five-track EP offers a blend of classic influences and forward-thinking elements that showcase his diverse production skills.
Despite his initial concern about the absence of a clear club hit, Riquísimo remained dedicated to releasing the five tracks he was happy with. In a statement on his Instagram page, he expressed his satisfaction with the EP and his appreciation for the support he has received.
‘Perilous Joy’ has already been receiving support from renowned DJs such as Moxie, Erol Alkan, Shanti Celeste, Amaliah, and Chris Stussy. The first half of the EP, on Side A, features two four-to-the-floor tracks called ‘Sinewinder’ and ‘Direct Fix’. These tracks are versatile set tools, with diva-like and bassline-focused offerings respectively.
The title track, ‘Perilous Joy’, on the other hand, offers a nod to Italian progressive house’s dreamy elements before transitioning into psychedelic, deep house through ‘Thyme After Time’. The EP concludes with ‘Autoglide’, a track filled with balearic chug elements that provide the perfect summer release.
Demi Riquísimo is known for his diversity and this is clearly demonstrated in the ‘Perilous Joy’ EP. It showcases his ability to blend various musical genres together to create a unique and enjoyable sound experience. The EP is available for listening and purchase via the Semi Delicious Bandcamp page
