The music icon Adele has announced that she is engaged to her partner, Rich Paul, at one of her residency gigs in Munich. Adele has been dating the popular sports agent since 2021, and after over a year of baseless engagement rumours, the singer finally admitted to being engaged at the show by flashing her ring to the audience. In a clip from the gig, she read out a question from an audience member that said, “will you marry me?” before making the announcement.
Fans of Adele have taken to social media to celebrate the momentous occasion for the singer, with many indicating that they believe this could impact her future music. One fan wrote on Twitter, “so if Adele is engaged and getting married and she wrote All Night Parking about him, then the next album’s going to be full of All Night Parking’s – oh, we won so bad.”
Adele spoke about her relationship with Rich Paul in an interview with ELLE last summer, where she described him as someone she has “never been in love with anyone like this before”. The couple first made a public appearance together at the 2023 Grammys, where Adele won the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Easy On Me’.
Before meeting Rich Paul, Adele was married to charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki, and the couple has a son together named Angelo. The singer’s most recent album, ’30,’ examines the aftermath of her divorce from Konecki. NME gave the album three stars in their review and concluded that, “This devastating level of honesty means that, despite its more experimental moments, ‘30’ still winds up feeling like trademark Adele, in its own way, most of the time.”
