The multi-talented Nandi Bushell has posted a beautiful cover of Nine Inch Nails’ classic track, “Hurt,” to her social media accounts. Although she is known primarily as a drum prodigy, the 14-year-old’s skills on the piano are just as impressive. Bushell shared the video on Instagram with a message explaining that she had discovered the song by Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails from Johnny Cash’s version.
“Hurt” gained renewed popularity when Johnny Cash covered the song for his album “American IV: The Man Comes Around” in 2002. NME once named the accompanying video, directed by Mark Romanek, as the greatest of all time. Bushell acknowledges that her version will never compare to the original or the Cash version, but she hopes her take will provide a fresh perspective on this moving piece of art. The young musician explained that experimenting with singing in her own way was also a key part of creating her “Hurt” cover.
This isn’t the first time that Bushell has played in front of huge crowds, as she performed a 10-minute rock drum medley in front of 20,000 people at London’s O2 Arena earlier this year. She has also been featured on the Drumeo channel on YouTube and has even played along to Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It” without ever having heard the song before.
The talented musician is quickly becoming a social media sensation with videos of her playing various covers and original tracks. She has also collaborated with Tom Morello and has even had an online drum battle with Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters. Despite her many accomplishments, she remains humble and focused on growing as a musician.

The boot collection will feature designs that draw inspiration from the era in which the album was released, including graphics, lyrics, and even the soundwaves from the first song
