Leon Bridges has announced his fourth studio album, entitled Leon, which is set to be released via Columbia on October 4. Ahead of the release, Bridges has debuted a new track from the album called Peaceful Place. The song features elements of soulful blues with a hope-filled and sunny ambiance. Leon was recorded with producer Ian Fitchuk at El Desierto studio, Mexico and with co-producer Daniel Tashian in Nashville.

Bridges stated that the upcoming album has been a long time coming and that he started writing pieces of it as far back as Gold-Diggers Sound. The singer-songwriter hopes that his latest album will bring listeners back to simpler days with its soulful music and stories from his hometown, Fort Worth. He stated, “It’s about time spent in my beloved Fort Worth and the experiences that made me the man I am today. It’s imbued with my soul.”

Leon’s official tracklist features 13 songs, including When A Man Cries, Panther City, Simplify, and Never Satisfied. Bridges’ third album, Gold-Diggers Sound, released back in 2021, received glowing reviews from NME for its new “vibrant, almost luminous aesthetic.” In recent years, Bridges has also made music with Khruangbin, releasing two EPs titled Texas Sun and Texas Moon.

Last month, Bridges’ Chrome Cowgirl featured on the soundtrack for the tornado-chasing blockbuster Twisters. He features on the soundtrack alongside artists such as Shania Twain, Luke Combs, and Miranda Lambert. With the release of Leon, it is clear that Bridges’ bluesy, soulful voice will continue to capture music lovers far and wide for years to come
