Sadie Sink, who plays Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, recently revealed that she had no idea the extent to which fans were invested in her character. Although Sink has played Max since season two of the show, it was in season four that Max became a central figure after she was attacked and left blind and in a coma. Fans of the show took to Max’s character and shared her love for Kate Bush’s ‘Running Up That Hill’, which resulted in the song’s major resurgence in the real world.

In a recent interview with Variety, Sink explained that she was taken aback by the reception to her portrayal of Max. “I really didn’t think people would care all that much about her journey,” she said. Sink does not have social media apps on her phone, so her brothers had to keep her informed of the love for Max on TikTok. “Still, I was kind of like, ‘That’s cool,'” she added.

Fans of Stranger Things have also been eagerly awaiting the show’s fifth and final season, which is currently in production. Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the show, recently teased that the final season is “basically like making eight movies.” Filming for the final season began in January of this year and has passed the halfway point in production.

Although Sink has not revealed any details about the final season of the show, she has previously stated that filming the final episode will be “awful” and “emotional, I’m sure.” Regardless, fans of Stranger Things are looking forward to the show’s conclusion and finding out what lies in store for Max and the rest of the characters
