Lauryn Hill and the Fugees have confirmed that their scheduled Europe and UK tour towards the end of this year will continue as planned, despite the recent cancellation of their North American tour. The North American shows were cancelled just three days prior to the intended start date, and no reason was given for the cancellation at that time. The fate of the UK and Europe tour was left in question until Hill commented on the situation via social media.
Hill confirmed on her Instagram account that the Europe and UK tour is still going ahead. Additional shows for the European tour were announced last week just before news of the North American tour cancellation came to light. Hill then went on to explain why the North American shows were cancelled, citing a sensationalism in the media that created a narrative affecting ticket sales for the tour.
All European tour dates are still available for sale from the Live Nation website, and tickets for UK and Ireland gigs can be purchased from Ticketmaster. The scheduled tour comes after a string of cancellations last November when Hill cited serious vocal strain. The Fugees had also cancelled their 25th anniversary tour of ‘The Score’ in January due to pandemic related concerns.
Tour dates include shows in Dublin, Ireland, Cardiff, UK, Manchester, UK, London, UK, Cologne, Germany, Paris, France, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Antwerp, Belgium, Stockholm, Sweden, and Hamburg, Germany. Fans are hopeful that the European and UK shows will indeed proceed as planned.
