A man was critically injured in a targeted attack during the Reggae Land festival held on August 4 at Milton Keynes Bowl. Two men were arrested on suspicion of being linked to the attack after being detained for drug and public order offenses. One man was 29 years old, and another was 31.

The victim was taken to the hospital and reported in a critical condition on the night of the incident, before being stabilized. There are no immediate indications of further threat posed to attendees of the festival. Graeme Williams, Deputy Inspector, mentioned how investigation teams are working closely with the organizers and their security team to discover more about the incident.

The festival hosted performers such as Popcaan, Shabba Ranks, and Koffee on the weekend of August 3 – 4. Mixmag has since contacted Reggae Land for a statement in response to the attack. Thames Valley Police reported that “forensic examinations as well as CCTV enquiries” have taken place in regard to the incident, showing that the police are doing everything possible to resolve the incident, particularly since it was a targeted attack.

The two men in custody remain under further investigation to ensure that their connection with the attack is confirmed. Thames Valley Police did not release the names of the suspect or victim, and only offered brief information on the attack. In the aftermath of the incident, attendees were provided with additional security measures to ensure their safety
