The upcoming biopic inspired by legendary singer Bob Dylan, titled “A Complete Unknown,” finally has a release date. The James Mangold-directed movie stars Timothée Chalamet carrying out the role of the iconic musician, and theatre-goers in the United States can catch it on December 25, 2024. Although fans in the UK will have to wait as it is scheduled to release on January 17 next year. The producers of the movie, Fred Berger, Alex Heineman, Peter Jaysen, Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer, and Jeff Rosen, are hoping it will be a box office hit.
“A Complete Unknown” is a drama presenting the rise of Bob Dylan as a folk singer in the early 60s. The movie will primarily focus on the singer’s life progressing from the underground music scene of New York to becoming an international sensation. Dylan’s mystique and music during that time propelled him to the top of the charts, and his music reached the acme of the genre, thus solidifying his place in the history of music forever. The movie will conclude with Dylan’s famous performance that shook music industry, of “electric” rock and roll at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.
The film took its spark from the public figure’s evolution, transition to the guitar, and his transformation into an icon in the folk-rock music industry. Chalamet, who previously showcased his music talent in “Wonka,” will sing tunes in the biopic, adding a vibe to the movie.
