The final episode of sitcom Gavin and Stacey is set to air on Christmas Day this year, and lead actress Joanna Page has announced that she was “ordering a burger” when she first received the script for the finale. Speaking to BBC Radio Wales, Page, who plays Stacey, admitted she was initially fine before the script came through, but now that she knew how the series concluded, she was “so frightened in anything” she said.
Page is working on another project while in the midst of filming for Gavin and Stacey’s last episode. She revealed she received the script during a break from work. The news of the final episode of Gavin and Stacey leaked earlier this year before an official announcement was made. Star Rob Brydon described the experience of the news leaking as “horrible” in a recent interview.
Fans of the sitcom are eagerly anticipating the final episode after a cliffhanger in last year’s Christmas special. In the final scene, character Nessa (Ruth Jones) proposed to Smithy (James Corden), which the show left unresolved.
