Many people are reluctant to change their minds, but according to Positive News, it can be a real strength. Positive News asked readers what their biggest change of heart has been and received some interesting responses.
Lea from Stuttgart, Germany said she changed her mind about the future. She shared that while there is still work to be done, she is now more optimistic that we can build a better future than what is typically portrayed in the media.
Meanwhile, Paul from Leeds, UK said he used to think life was all about material things – a nice house, car, clothes, and income. But over time, he realized that giving time to others and volunteering is far more rewarding.
Similarly, Chloe from Totnes, UK admits that she used to hate winter. She found it bleak, lifeless, and in turn, it made her feel that way too. However, once she saw how the slower energy and the falling of leaves was a natural cycle of life, she learned to love and embrace the beauty of winter. This change transformed her seasonal affective disorder.
Other people’s change of heart included Denise from Southampton, UK who believes that our political system is incapable of making climate policies sufficient enough to avert catastrophic climate change. As an alternative, she suggests replacing the House of Lords with a House of Citizens that will help the government have the mandate to make policies to help us achieve our goals.
