Third Man announce first Australian signing The Belair Lip Bombs

Third Man Records has signed its first Australian band, the Belair Lip Bombs. The band’s debut album, “Lush Life,” was released last year through Cousin Will and will now be issued by Jack White’s label with physical releases available from October 18. “Everyone at the label is a legend and it’s obvious how much love they put into each of their releases. We couldn’t be more stoked to be joining the Third man fam!” the band said. A second album will also be ready next year.

“Lush Life” explores themes of longing for something that isn’t there. The album title is referenced a few times throughout the album. The Belair Lip Bombs is headed by front-woman Maisie Everett. Formerly of CLAMM, she moves between a spirited range of styles. Bassist Jimmy Droughton and drummer Liam De Bruin provide the unwavering momentum for Mike Bradvica’s versatile lead guitar and Everett’s varied vocal turns.

In its review of “Lush Life,” NME wrote: “there’s an eclectic quality to debut album ‘Lush Life’ that might sound unfocused in another band, but Everett and company are so honed and controlled on each track that we’re brought right along for every swerve and sidestep… the songs are short and naggingly catchy.”
