Taylor Swift’s album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ has reclaimed the Number One spot on the Billboard 200 chart for a record-breaking 13th week. The album had previously spent 12 weeks at the top of the chart before briefly falling to Number Four for two weeks. This marks a new record for Swift, whose previous albums ‘Red’ and ‘1989’ spent 11 total weeks at Number One.
To add to this achievement, Swift is also releasing a new limited-time-only version of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, a “First Draft Phone Memo” version of ‘My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys’, which is set to be available for 24 hours. Fans have speculated that the release was strategically timed to block Charli XCX and Billie Eilish from charting with their recently released albums ‘Brat’ and ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’.
Swift has also been busy promoting Team USA in a recent Olympics promo video, encouraging them to be themselves and show the world who they are. While Swift’s album continues to dominate the charts, Eilish and XCX’s song ‘Guess’ has earned the biggest debut for an all-female remix in global Spotify chart history, surpassing Swift and Spice Girls’ efforts on ‘Karma’.
