The two singers went on to perform a rendition of Jimmy Van Heusen’s 1943 song, a track that has been covered by many famous singers, including Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Miles Davis. Laufey also sang a rendition of Keely Smith’s ‘I Wish You Love’, telling the crowd that growing up, she played the cello and the piano, and never imagined performing at festivals like Lollapalooza.
The surprise guest performance became a highlight of Laufey’s set, drawing attention on social media and from publications like NME. Kesha also made an appearance at Lollapalooza, but for a different reason. According to NME, Kesha was unaware she was using a “real butcher knife” for her performance of ‘Backstabber’ at the music festival on August 1.
