£25.49Deftones have confirmed a surprise live performance ahead of their appearance at Lollapalooza over the weekend. The American rock band announced on Thursday that they would be taking to the stage at Metro, Chicago in an intimate show, supported by Fleshwater. Fans quickly snapped up tickets to the event, which went live through the venue’s ticket provider and were limited to just two per person.
Deftones are one of the hundreds of acts that will be playing at the four-day Lollapalooza festival in Grant Park, Chicago. The festival, which runs from August 1-4, will see performances from a range of acts including Blink-182, Hozier, SZA and The Killers. On Saturday, the same day that Deftones are due to perform, Future and Metro Boomin are among the headline performers.
Last month, Tyler, The Creator pulled out of his headline slot due at Lollapalooza, much to the disappointment of fans. He was replaced by Megan Thee Stallion. Meanwhile, Deftones have also announced the line-up for their annual Dia De Los Deftones festival at Petco Park in San Diego, California on November 2. This year’s event will see IDLES, Sunny Day Real Estate, HEALTH and others perform on two stages.
In other news, Deftones recently appeared in a study that sought to explore the most popular metal bands to listen to during sex. The study, carried out by ZipHealth, found that Deftones were among the top ten overall acts chosen by 47% of respondents who reported regularly listening to music during sex. The band were the only hard rock or metal act featured on the list, which was dominated by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Lana Del Rey
