Love Next Door, a new Korean romance drama, starring Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min, has released an official teaser on Netflix and tvN. Childhood friends Choi Seung-hyo and Baek Seo-ryu, have drifted apart as adults, both pursing their own careers, but eventually meet again. Choi Seung-hyo is played by Snowdrop star Jung Hae-in, while Baek Seo-ryu is played by Alchemy of Souls actress Jung So-min. The show’s director, Yoo Je-won, has directed other romance series that were acclaimed, such as Hometown Cha Cha Cha and Crash Course in Romance.
The two main characters face reliving their childhood memories of playful chaos, as they begin to re-evaluate their chemistry as two people who might be more than just friends. The teasers reveal that both characters are experiencing separate successful adult lives. Viewers will be able to tune in on tvN in South Korea, with episodes expanded every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10pm KST, for both local and international audiences.
Also, Kim Ji-eun of One Dollar Lawyer, Tomorrow’s Yun Ji-on, Revenant’s Park Ji-young, and other actors are set to appear in the show. Shin Ha-eun is credited as the screenwriter for the show. Shin Ha-eun has also worked on other works, such as Hometown Cha Cha Cha.
The story features two childhood friends, Choi Seung-hyo and Baek Seo-ryu, who were introduced to each other by their mothers. They ended up spending most of their time together as kids due to the close proximity of their mothers. Seo-ryu was granted the opportunity to study and work overseas, while Seung-hyo is a rising young architect who runs his own architecture atelier. The series picks up when Seo-ryu, for some reason, decides to resign from her well-paying job to move back home, where she eventually crosses paths with her childhood friend once again
