The largest hard-tech rave ever to exist saw 40,000 people gathered in Amsterdam’s Johan Cruyff Arena until 7 AM. Organized by Verknipt, the event ran for ten hours non-stop and featured popular hard tech acts like DIØN, Sara Landry, and Shlømo among others, providing incredible soundtrack to dance the night away. Verknipt shared a post on Instagram to commemorate the night as a historical moment. The message read, “We just wrote history with the largest hard techno rave ever, where 40,000 ravers united in chaotic harmony, revelling in distortion, breaking the rules, and exploring sounds that push the boundaries of the rave culture. Here, we are all slaves to the rave and trailblazers of the future”. The event’s footage captured on video shows the insane dancing enthusiasts in their true colours.
Apart from Berlin techno, recently added to the UNESCO cultural heritage list, techno’s popularity has been on the rise and is well-reflected through famous artists like FKA Twigs, who is currently working on her new album with frequent collaborator Koreless. In an interview, she shared that the new project has derived influence from techno music, although it’s not a techno album, and said, “I moved to Prague a couple summers ago, fell in love with techno. The album isn’t techno but the spirit is there for real.”
