Berlin-based DJ and modular synthesist JakoJako has released her latest EP, titled ‘Segmente’. The EP features four electronic tracks of glitch-infused techno, with each track influenced by sounds played in JakoJako’s live shows. ‘Introspektion’, a whimsical EP track, was particularly well-received, with the artist noting on Instagram that they have received many track ID requests for it.
Discussing the new EP, JakoJako explained: “The tracks on my new EP are all inspired by the live sets I played in 2023. They began as live tracks in my sets, and the style reflects the music I purchase for my DJ sets. Usually I look for these kind of tracks to spice up tool based techno sets. I need them to add emotional moments – with pads, dreamy sounding, soothing but still danceable. Perfect for closings or when the sound is getting too hard.”
JakoJako’s ‘Segmente’ EP follows on from their previous EP titled, ‘Verve’ as well as a full-length album titled, ‘Metamorphos’. The Berlin artist has developed a reputation for creating intricate and unique soundscapes that captivate audiences. Mixing intricate sounds with fascinating minimalism, JakoJako has become an established name in musical circles.
Listeners can check out the ‘Segmente’ EP as well as the abstract psychedelic artwork created by Reza Hasni on the artist’s website.
